Aloha! I’m Julie Chen, a Redken Artist and Certified Color, Balayage, Design, and Finishing Stylist based in Oahu, Hawaii.

I’m passionate about creating customized hair color and design that helps you look and feel your best. Whether you’re dreaming of dimensional balayage, lived-in blonde, flawless gray coverage, or a personalized haircut, I specialize in looks that are beautiful, wearable, and uniquely you.

Each service I offer is tailored to enhance your natural beauty and lifestyle so you can enjoy effortless, confidence-boosting hair every day.

When I’m not behind the chair, I share my craft as a Redken Artist and Educator, teaching at Ulta Beauty Academy on Oahu and Maui and inspiring stylists throughout the Hawaiian Islands. Helping other professionals grow their artistry and confidence is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

I love the color purple. Purple hair, purple shoes, purple purse...you know what I mean.

I am a coffee lover. I can't function without drinking coffee first to start my day. My favorite coffee is Iced caramel macchiato.

Ps. If you are late for your appointment, bring a coffee with you and I might forgive you.

I love the beach and sunset. Where do I live? I live in the best place in the world...Hawaii. I am very grateful that I can work and live here.

I love cats and dogs. I have four cats at home and I want a dog to walk and play with. My favorite dog is Shiba Inu. I am going to have one Shiba Inu one day.

My favorite hair product line is Redken. I am #redkenobsessed with 3 hair products that I can't live without... Redken Hair Cleansing Cream Shampoo, Argan Oil, and ABC Leave-in Treatment

My favorite salon service is color. I like to do all kinds of colors in the salon. However, I am in love with open-air balayage painting with clay or lightener. I could do hand painting all day and every day. That's my jam!

My favorite food is poke with rice as known as "poke bowl". Poke is chunks of raw, marinated fish, typically Ahi or Yellowfin tuna. CREDIT THE IMAGES TO FOODLAND HAWAII.

I adore my kids. They are the engine for my drive. I want to be a great role model for them....working hard, achieving my dream, and being part of their journey.

I love to read or listen to an audiobook. I listen to self-help audiobooks most of the time behind the wheel or doing laundry. I like those topics from business and career to money and investments. I know. I am so practical.

90% of my clothes are black with a little mix of white and gray. Why does a hairstylist always wear black? Because sometimes we have chemicals spill such hair color, lightener and black hides stain easily.
